Sake Seasons – A Flight of Hiyaoroshi Sake Flying This Fall
And they are back! A migrating flock of seasonally released single-pasteurized sake called “Hiyaoroshi” just landed in the True Sake Lake. Go hunting for the first flight of Fall Draft brews that will expand to almost 20 by the time that they all land. These “aged” sake are typically made in the winter, pasteurized once “Namazume”, then released in the Fall to celebrate the wonderful rich and full-bodied flavors of autumn. Some remain rich and fruity, but many pivot to full-bodied umami-driven brews that drink savory and ricey in some cases.
We are all very lucky to have access to seasonally released sake, so it’s important to try these brews while they are in season – Hiyaoroshi Season.
