Sake Values – Looking For Bargains @ www.truesake.com

True Sake is a family. It’s always been a family, and you are very much a part of it. Many of you have actually watched my family grow up in a manner of speaking. Yup, I was probably the first guy outside of Japan who actually sold sake with a Baby Bjorn (child carrying system) on when speaking to my customer-family. My two amazing daughters had a nest area under the counter in the old shop. They would sticker bags, draw various signs ("Best Sake Store In Hole Werld"), and would vacuum – they loved vacuuming. In a word, my family and my other family were actually one in the same.

So it wasn’t lost on me when I texted the older daughter the other day and asked her to do me a favor! I asked her to take a look at our website to see if it was approachable or “friendly” to sake folks looking for a deal to save a few bucks as tax season looms. I texted the following:

First, a big thank you to Mei for making the website intuitive, and thank you to Riley for making me remember that we are a family business. Hand selling sake is our strength, and we are the best in the business. For over 20 years, we’ve been working together with our loyal customer base to assist with the entire True Sake shopping experience. And the result is a website that really helps compliment our hand selling. Yes, times are changing and people don’t like the interaction aspect, but a vast majority of you still do!

So, the point of this section is to remind you that since you are a part of this family, it’s important to remember that there is a very cool section on our website that shows you some darn good deals. And please remember, just because a sake is on sale or discounted, there is nothing “wrong” with it. We don’t sell damaged or bad sake. We never have and never will. But we do have a moving or transitory inventory that ebbs and flows with the tastes of the market, the bottling dates, the overstock, and the availability. Some sakes get discontinued by the importer, some brews get over-ordered by the distributor, and some sakes just don’t fit in our inventory any more. Thus, we put them in “Promotions” because in most cases, we reduce the price of sake that people have forgotten about. This is a way to reintroduce people to some darn good sakes that need a second look!

And thank you for being a part of our family!
