The Beau-Zone Layer – Jinyu “Brave Warrior’ Junmai Ginjo

SMV: ±0 Acidity: 1.4 From Chiba Prefecture.

Beau Zone August 2014

Say hello to one of “those” sakes. Why one of “those”? There are a few select sakes which for me – as a “professional” – are hard as hell to write a review about. They are mysterious, complex, and just down right “what-the-heck-is-this-sake-all-about?” I used to be intimidated by these brews, because I couldn’t define them. I couldn’t share their qualities in a "speak" that is so much easier for the vast majority of other sakes out there.

It’s hard to write a review for a sake that you understood, but couldn’t understand. That’s why this “Brave Warrior” is so awesome. It is so many things on so many levels. It tastes and drinks differently with each sip, and that by no means lack of balance. It is almost balanced personified as the complexity rules the overall drinking experience, and you are simply left wondering why this sake is so tasty and so flavorful and feels so great. How do YOU describe it?
