World Sake Imports is a collection of family-owned, hand crafted breweries and was the first premium jizake importer to offer such a collection of quality to the U.S and introduced American-friendly back-labels to allow the customer to understand our beloved libations much easier. The collection of breweries continue a relationship and bond with each other which culminates the true spirit of World Sake Imports.

Meet Liloa Papa, formerly the Sake Specialist at Southern Wine and Spirits in Hawaii back when sake was nowhere as cool and barely as appreciated as it is today. Native to Hawaii, he originally helped put sake bottles in the hands of island natives but now he's here on the mainland to share his love of sake through World Sake Imports

WHEN: Saturday August 31st from 2:00 – 4:00PM

WHERE: True Sake 556 Hayes Street

WHO: President of Ozeki USA Mr. Yoji Ogawa and Toji-San “Ken”

WHAT: Free Sake Tasting 21+ with ID

Recently the team from Ozeki USA (Hollister, CA) came to the store and the President Mr. Yoji Ogawa pointed to one of our refrigerators and said, “Look, there you are” to the Toji (Head Brewer) who laughed and said, “Yes!” His image is on the label of their outstanding Junmai Daiginjo called “Platinum.” They are extremely proud of this sake as it is perhaps one of the best sakes ever made using Cal-Rose sake brewing rice milled to 50%.

Come to this tasting to meet two very passionate sake makers who are putting the “CA” in CRAFT sake made in the US. Both gentlemen are trained and certified “Tanba-Toji” and are a great resource to those who want to learn more about the trials and tribulations of making sake in the US from a Japanese-trained background.
